In spring, approximately 1,000 Somei Yoshino cherry trees burst into bloom throughout Yamanakadani, creating a spectacular seasonal landscape.

One of the area’s greatest attractions is its convenient location. The cherry-lined scenery begins just one minute on foot from Yamanakadani Station, making it easy to enjoy cherry blossoms without a long hike or complicated journey.

Every spring, many visitors come to the area for hanami, the traditional Japanese custom of enjoying the beauty of cherry blossoms.

In mid-June each year, firefly-viewing events are held in Yamanakadani. As evening falls, the soft glow of fireflies illuminates the riverside, creating an enchanting natural spectacle.

Yamanakadani Station

Yamanakadani Station is a station on the JR West Hanwa Line in Hannan City, Osaka Prefecture. Its station number is JR-R50.

The station is notable for being located at the southernmost point of Osaka Prefecture, close to the border with Wakayama Prefecture. This makes it an important gateway for exploring the natural and historic attractions around Yamanakadani.

History of the Station

Yamanakadani Station opened in 1930 and has a long history as a local railway station. It subsequently underwent changes including nationalization during the wartime period and later became an unmanned station.

The station’s new station building began operation in April 2022. ICOCA and other compatible IC cards can also be used, making travel more convenient.

Station Structure

The station has two ground-level platforms serving two tracks in a side-by-side configuration. The platforms have an effective length suitable for six-car train formations.

A restroom is also available outside the ticket gates for the convenience of passengers.
