Umeda Sky Building Sky Garden Observation Deck

At the top of the Umeda Sky Building, the world’s first connected skyscraper with 40 floors above ground and 2 below, 173 meters above ground, is the Hanging Garden Observation Deck where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Osaka cityscape. It is a spot where visitors can enjoy a vast panoramic view, a truly spectacular sight.

You can see the skyscraper district of Umeda, the center of Osaka, the Yodo River, and even the mountains in the distance. This observatory is unusually located on a rooftop, making it a popular sightseeing spot for its 360-degree panoramic view and breezy atmosphere.

The Umeda Sky Building was designed by architect Hiroshi Hara. Known for his work on the Kyoto Station Building and Sapporo Dome, the building is a famous landmark in the Umeda area. Its unique shape also makes it a familiar landmark in the Umeda area.

It has been selected as one of the “TOP 20 BUILDINGS AROUND THE WORLD” by Dorling Kindersley, a British publication, as a world-famous architectural landmark. It is ranked alongside the Parthenon in Athens and the Colosseum in Rome, both of which are historical monuments.

It has become extremely popular with foreign visitors, with 75% of the visitors to the Hanging Gardens coming from abroad.

Structurally, the building is unique in that the two towers, Tower East (east wing) and Tower West (west wing), are connected by a circular hanging garden observation deck. This provides enhanced resistance to earthquakes, wind, and vibration.

In addition, a connecting walkway has been installed on the 22nd floor to allow visitors to come and go between the East and West wings.

The Umeda Sky Building is part of the Shin-Umeda City complex.

It houses a variety of facilities, including restaurants, shopping spots, a hanging garden observatory, a movie theater, a hotel, and a clinic.

Restaurants range from casual to formal, so you can conveniently use them for everything from a sunny day meal to an everyday lunch.

The shopping area also offers a wide variety of products from drugstores, flower stores, showrooms, tourist stores, banks, and souvenir stores to souvenir stores for both business and personal use.
