Materials Course
Under the theme “Exploring New Materials,” this area introduces the characteristics and manufacturing processes of new materials that support modern society.
New Life Course
Focusing on technology that helps create a “more enjoyable life,” this course introduces technologies connected with everyday living and provides useful knowledge for daily life.
Earth Course
With the theme “Looking at the Earth,” this course encourages visitors to think about environmental protection and the development of a sustainable society.
Information Course
This course introduces the latest technologies using information and visual media. Visitors can explore how information and imaging technologies may shape the society of the future.
Energy Course
Focusing on energy, this course explores the potential of renewable energy and the technologies needed to create new energy systems for the future.
Highlights on Each Floor
First Floor
Techno☆Information Plaza: Visitors can experience modern communications and transportation technologies through exhibits such as fiber-optic technology and the VICS driving simulator.
Energy Exhibits: Exhibits presented by Osaka Gas and Kansai Electric Power introduce natural gas and renewable energy technologies.
Earth Exhibits: The displays cover topics related to the global environment, including environmentally friendly technologies and a sturgeon that lived 300 million years ago.
Second Floor
New Life Exhibits: Visitors can learn about technologies such as bearing systems, the mechanisms of lightning, and the future potential of LED technology.
Earth Exhibits: Displays introduce developments in architectural technology as well as the latest advances in space exploration.
Energy Exhibits: Visitors can explore technologies that may support future society, including hydrogen energy and solar power generation.
Events and Interactive Activities
The museum regularly hosts activities that can be enjoyed by both children and adults. Seasonal quiz rallies and science craft workshops provide opportunities to learn while having fun.
The Science Stage also features experiments and performances designed to make scientific concepts easier and more enjoyable to understand.
VICS Driving Simulator
The VICS Driving Simulator allows visitors to experience a car navigation system while using traffic information provided by the VICS Center.
Through the simulator, visitors can learn about the flow of traffic and understand the importance of information and communications technology in transportation.
Health Club
The museum also offers a hands-on health check using robots installed throughout the facility. Visitors can test aspects of their physical ability, including reaction speed and grip strength.
Six different measurements are available, allowing participants to challenge themselves while aiming for a physical age of 20.
