Tempozan Giant Ferris Wheel

One of the world’s largest Ferris wheels

With a height of 112.5 meters and a diameter of 100 meters, this is one of the world’s largest Ferris wheels, standing right next to Kaiyukan.

During the 15-minute ride, visitors can enjoy a spectacular 360-degree view of the Ikoma Mountains to the east, the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge to the west, Kansai International Airport to the south, and the Rokko Mountains to the north.

Of the 60 gondolas in total, there are 4 “see-through cabins” with transparent floors and seats. There are also two barrier-free cabins, which allow wheelchair users to board directly.

During the ride, commentary in Japanese and English is played in the cabins. At night, illumination supervised by lighting designer Mikiko Ishii decorates the cabins and the revolving axle, and a show like a fireworks display that signals the time signal every 30 minutes is also popular. There is also a show that informs visitors of the next day’s weather forecast.

The colorful spectacle of the Port of Osaka has become one of Osaka’s famous nighttime attractions. Before boarding the boat, a commemorative photo service is available for a fee, so why not take the whole family along for the ride and make a lasting memory of your visit to Kaiyukan?
