The observation deck of Abeno Harukas, the tallest building in Japan at 300 meters above the ground, offers a spectacular view from a height of 300 meters through a 360-degree glass space.
The 60th floor consists of the “Tenjo Kairo,” an indoor corridor with glass covering the entire floor. The floor is approximately 288 meters high, making it the second tallest indoor observatory in Japan after the Tokyo Sky Tree. It is also the tallest observation deck in a building in Japan.
The west side of the observation deck has a tempered glass floor that allows visitors to see all the way to the 58th floor, and the wall facing the 58th floor atrium also has a glass curtain wall, so visitors can see the “Sky Garden” through the atrium and through the glass.
The entrance to Harukas 300 is on the 16th floor. Beyond the entrance gate are two high-speed elevators that travel at a speed of 360 meters per minute from the 16th to the 60th floor.
Inside the elevators, not only is the current altitude displayed on a digital image, but there is also a screen showing illumination and light bands in the form of stars in space.
The 58th through 60th floors are covered with glass curtain walls. Weather permitting, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of not only the Osaka Plain and Osaka Bay, but also the mountains from Kyoto to Shikoku, the islands of the Seto Inland Sea, and the Suzuka Mountains.
On the 58th floor, there is an outdoor plaza “Sky Garden” with a three-story atrium structure and men’s and women’s restrooms, and “SKY GARDEN 300” provides seating and offers food and beverages for takeout.
On the 59th floor, in addition to the exit, there is SHOP HARUKAS 300. The men’s and women’s restrooms on the east side, the highest restroom in the building in Japan, have glass curtain walls that offer a panoramic view of the east.
There is one experience that I recommend for families visiting the building. These include the “glass floor underfoot” on the west side of the 60th floor, a “heliport tour” on the roof of Abeno Harukas (fee: 500 yen, no children under 3 years old), and “pineapple candy soft” created in collaboration with the famous “pineapple candy” confectionery, outdoor BBQ in summer and outdoor oden in winter, Visitors can also enjoy outdoor dining at SKY GARDEN 300, a rare experience that can only be had at HARUKAS 300.
